First Step with android (Installing SDK and ADT plugin)

How To Install Android SDK and ADT plugin

Hey guys this is my first tutorial on android. In this tutorial I’m looking to go over the first steps. Usually it is so easy to work with android if we use eclipse IDE. In these tutorials I’m working on the eclipse IDE.

1. Installing SDK

In order to working with android we need to install the android SDK. You can download the SDK installer from the android developer site.  You can directly go through the installation wizard. It will check for the java run time environment and you can specify the location for the SDK (I think it is better to set the location except local disk C, because sometimes you may face problems when you download android platforms and tools).

Download SDK Installer

2. ADT plugin

Now we can go to the next step. In the next we have to install the ADT plugin for eclipse. Now go to Help>>Install new Software>>Click on the Add button.

Now add the https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ URL in the location field. Now click on OK. When the procedure is completed you need to restart the IDE.
Next you need to add the SDK location.Go to Window>>Preference>>Android>>Browse for the SDK location.

After installing the SDK you have to install the SDK tools and the SDK platforms. In the SDK manager you can select the required SDK tools and the SDK platforms.

Ok guys now you have finished the foundation for the developing
